UNIJOS Institute of Education Matriculates 321 Students

The University of Jos, Institute of Education has matriculated 321 Students at a ceremony held at the University Auditorium.

In an address during the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos, Prof. Seddi Sebastian Maimako congratulated the Matriculating Students and warmly welcomed them into the University.

He encouraged the Students to work hard as many graduates of the B.Ed Programme had achieved so much over the years and are now occupying high positions in the society and making substantial contributions to national development.

The Vice-Chancellor, represented by Prof. Mangut Mankilik disclosed that plans were underway to move the Institute of Education to its permanent site at Kunga, Nararguta which he believed would ensure further development of the Institute with the provision of adequate lecture rooms and halls conducive for academic activities. According to him, the joy of the Matriculation would be short-lived if the Students were unable to complete their programmes due to examination misconduct or any other malpractice.

He warned that anyone found to have registered with false certificate or incomplete qualification would be withdrawn from the programme, and advised them to avoid cultism throughout their stay in this University.

He appealed to Lecturers teaching courses on the B.Ed programme to ensure that they attend their lectures regularly and punctually to fully cover the various course curricula.
