Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Registrar, Bursar and University Librarian of Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
THE INSTITUTION
The Nasarawa State University, Keffi was established under Nasarawa State Law No. 2 of 2001 as passed by the State House of Assembly to encourage the advancement of learning located in Keffi town, the University caters for both full time and part time students. The University today has seven faculties, 54 academic programmes, a Postgraduate School, Institutes, Centres and Schools. The University is run under three campuses, main campus in Keffi, Pyanku Campus and Shabu-Lafia Campus.
THE POSITIONS
Registrar
The Registrar is a Principal Officer and as the Chief Administrative Officer of the University, is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administrative work of the University except as regards financial matters which fall within the purview of the Bursar. The Registrar is also the Secretary to Council, Senate, Congregation and Convocation of the University.
Bursar
The Bursar is a Principal Officer and as the Chief Financial Officer of the University, is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.
University Librarian
The University Librarian, a Principal Officer of the University, shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the good management of the University Library and other library services in the University.
THE CANDIDATES
For the vacant posts, the University seeks candidates with vision, proven academic distinction, managerial ability, integrity and transparency in private and public life. The right candidate should also have ability to develop linkages with the external communities to support the emerging needs of the University, command respect and engender cooperation and loyalty of staff and students of the University.
He/She must fully understand the complexity of a University system and must be able to utilize its human resources to attain a word class University system; must enjoy good physical and mental health; must be computer literate/ICT compliant and not older than 60years as at 1stMarch, 2017.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Registrar
Candidates must possess a good honours degree. Higher qualification will be an added advantage with at least fifteen (15) years of post qualification administrative or professional experience, with a minimum of ten years at the senior management level and not below the rank of Deputy Registrar.
Bursar
Candidates must possess a good honours degree in Accountancy or related discipline as well as professionally recognized Accountancy qualifications e.g. ACMA, ACA, CPA, ACA, CNA, Possession of higher degree will be an advantage. The candidate should have at least (15) years of post graduation experience and (10) years after professional qualification(s). In addition, the candidate must have at least ten (10) years relevant experience in a senior management position preferably in a University or comparable institution and not below the rank of Deputy Bursar.
University Librarian
Candidates for the post of the University Librarian must possess a good honours degree with a minimum of second class, Masters and PhD in Library Science, Library and Information Science or related field, from a recognized University. The Candidate must demonstrate academic excellence in quality publications, teaching and research, and credible community service. He/she must be computer literate and show evidence of considerable scholarship and understanding of the application of new technologies to library operations and services. The person must have at least 15years post-qualification experience in reputable University Library, comparable institutions or research institutions. Be a registered member of Librarian’s Registration Council of Nigerian (LRCN).

- Vision for the University in the next five years with particular reference to the Registry, Bursar or University Librarian as it applies (not more that 500 words).
- Other activities outside current employment.
- Proposed date of availability for duties, if appointed.
SALARY AND CONDITION OF SERVICE
The remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable to the post of a Registrar/Bursar/University Librarian of all Nigerian Federal Universities and as may be determined from time to time by the Nasarawa State Government/Governing Council as appropriate.
