WAEPA program – Scholarship Positions 2019 2020

Worldwide Assurance for Employees of Public Agencies is proudly offering the WAEPA program to provide tuition assistance for high school seniors or graduates who are children of WAEPA members.

Scholarship America administers the program that open for students who plan to enrol or already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two or four-year college/university or vocational-technical school.

WAEPA is a nonprofit association formed by federal employees for federal employees. It was formed in 1943 during World War II. WAEPA offers access to products and services to encourage the health, well-being and financial well-being of its members.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: Applications are open only for the USA
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: Any subject or courses from four-year colleges and 2-year vocational schools
  • Admissible Criteria: Applicants are required to be children of WAEPA members insured under WAEPA’s Group Term Life Insurance Program and meet the following WAEPA eligibility requirements:
  • Children (under the age of 23): Children of WAEPA Members insured under WAEPA’s Group Life Insurance Program.
  • High School Seniors or Graduates: High school seniors or graduates who plan to enrol or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • GPA of 3.0 or it’s equivalent: Maintaining a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent.
  • WAEPA Members and Associate Members are not eligible to apply.

How to Apply

  • How to Apply: To participate, applicants are required to register by creating an account to complete an online application and submit the necessary documents.
  • Supporting Documents: As part of the application, must upload a current, complete transcript of grades. Note: Grade reports are not accepted, and Transcripts must show the student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, in addition to the term in which each course was taken.
  • Entry Requirements: Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent.
  • Language Requirement: Candidates must have a great knowledge in the English language (speaking, reading, and writing)

Benefits

If nominated as a winner, the student will get a prize of $2,500 or $1,250. Rewards will be allowed as follows:

  • Up to seventy (70) grants of $2,500 will be provided to students attending four-year colleges or universities.
  • Up to five (5) grants of $1,250 will be approved to students attending two-year colleges or vocational-technical schools.
