About the UNN Sandwich Degree Programme
The Sandwich Degree Programme is a university study arrangement that lets students complete their academic work during designated long vacations rather than following the conventional full-time semester schedule.
According to UNN’s official Registry information, the Sandwich and Evening Programmes Unit manages admissions, examinations, student records and related administrative processes for these programmes.
The university also works with designated affiliate institutions for certain courses.
This arrangement may suit working adults, teachers, holders of relevant qualifications, and other eligible candidates who want to pursue further education.
However, applicants should understand that a Sandwich programme is still a structured university degree programme.
Students must satisfy the relevant admission requirements, complete the prescribed coursework and meet the university’s academic regulations before graduation.

How to apply for the UNN Sandwich Degree Admission Form 2026
Candidates should follow the application procedure published by the university.
The 2026 advertisement instructs applicants to obtain the 2026 JAMB form, select UNN as their first-choice institution, generate a Sandwich Registration Invoice, pay the relevant processing fee and complete the online verification form.
Follow these steps carefully:
Step 1: Obtain the 2026 JAMB form
The university’s notice instructs candidates to purchase the 2026 JAMB form through an approved JAMB CBT centre and select the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, as their first-choice institution.
The notice also states that Sandwich applicants are not required to sit for the 2026 UTME examination.
Candidates should follow the Sandwich-specific instructions rather than confuse this process with the regular undergraduate admission route.
Step 2: Visit the UNN portal
Open the official university website at www.unn.edu.ng or visit the UNN application portal.
Locate the Sandwich Programmes section and select the option for generating a Sandwich Registration Invoice.
Make sure you are using the official university portal before entering your personal information.
Step 3: Generate your registration invoice
Enter the information the portal requests and generate your invoice.
Check that the invoice reflects the correct programme duration and corresponding application processing fee:
- Four-year programme: ₦5,000.
- Five-year programme: ₦10,000.
If the amount displayed does not match the official notice, contact the university before making payment.

Follow the payment instructions provided on the invoice and keep your payment confirmation for future reference.
Do not discard your receipt or confirmation details because you may need them when completing the application or submitting your documents.
Step 5: Complete the online verification form
Return to the UNN portal after payment and select the Sandwich Registration option.
Complete the online verification form using accurate personal, educational and contact information.
Enter your qualifications carefully and make sure the information agrees with your certificates and examination records.
Before submitting, check for errors in your name, date of birth, examination details, proposed course and contact information.
Step 6: Print and submit the completed application
The university’s 2026 advertisement instructs candidates to print the completed application form and submit it, together with their credentials, to the Office of the Registrar, Sandwich and Evening Programmes Unit.
Confirm the current submission arrangements and the appropriate office with the university before travelling, especially if you live far from Nsukka.
Documents to prepare for UNN Sandwich admission
Applicants should prepare their relevant academic records and identification documents before beginning the process.

Is JAMB UTME compulsory for UNN Sandwich admission?

Still, they are not expected to sit for the 2026 JAMB UTME examination for this Sandwich admission process.

Applicants should follow the instructions for the specific Sandwich programme and avoid relying on advice intended for regular UTME admission.
If you have already registered for JAMB or selected another institution, contact UNN or JAMB to clarify the required procedure before proceeding.
What happens after submitting the UNN Sandwich application?
Submitting an application does not guarantee admission.
The university’s Sandwich and Evening Programmes Unit checks applications and credentials against the relevant university and departmental requirements.
Admission processing also involves JAMB CAPS, according to the Registry’s description of the unit’s responsibilities.
After applying, candidates should:
- Keep their application and payment details safe.
- Monitor official UNN announcements for admission updates.
- Check the relevant admission list when published.
- Follow any instructions for accepting an offer of admission.
- Complete clearance and registration within the prescribed period.
