The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) has opened its doors to prospective students interested in pursuing a career in midwifery. UBTH invites applications from the general public for admission into the School of Basic Midwifery for the 2023 academic session.
The School of Basic Midwifery offers a comprehensive three-year course, training students with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide top-notch midwifery services.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must be at least 16 years old but not above 34 years of age. The entry qualifications include possession of five (5) credits in no more than two sittings in WAEC/NECO, NABTEB, SSCE/GCE/OL. These credits must include English language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. The School seeks dedicated individuals passionate about delivering quality healthcare services.
How to Apply
Interested candidates can obtain application forms from the office of the Principal/Head of Department (School of Midwifery) at UBTH. A non-refundable fee of Ten Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (N10,500) only is required, payable to the UBTH Account with TSA under the service type: Training School of Midwifery using the REMITA platform in any bank in Nigeria.
In addition, a payment of Two Hundred (200) Naira should be made into the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria Edo State Committee account – First Bank 2004854377.
Please note, the sales of forms will commence in May 2023. All forms must be purchased directly from the office of the Principal/Head of Department, School of Midwifery, UBTH. UBTH does not sell the School of Midwifery application forms online.
Submission of Application Form and Entrance Exam
Completed application forms should be submitted to the institution before the date of the entrance examination. The Entrance Exam is scheduled for Saturday, 12th August 2023, at 8:00 am at the School of Midwifery, UBTH, Benin City. Applicants are advised to come along with the original and photocopies of their credentials.
Applicants should note that they will be responsible for their accommodation and feeding during the examination period.
