2. USAC Sweden: Vaxjo/Kalmar – Undergraduate and Graduate Courses

Courses are subject to availability and approval of prerequisites which are determined by Linnaeus University. Courses are taught by a lecture with a complete study guide and tutorial session support.
The content of courses may consist of lectures, workshops, group exercises, discussions, tutorials, fieldwork, and seminars.
In Sweden, students are generally expected to be active in the classroom as the classroom is characterized by interactive learning.
A full-time load at Linnaeus University is 30 credits per semester (equivalent to approximately 15 US credits).
The full-time semester or full-time year courses consist of several modules that total 30 credits per semester.
You may take: a full-time semester/full-time year course for 30 credits/60 credits; or freestanding courses (either full-time or part-time) which are combined to make up a full-time load.
If you choose to study in a full-time semester or full-time year course, you must take all of the modules that make up that course.
They cannot be combined with freestanding courses or with other full-time semester or full-time year courses/modules. Modules cannot be chosen individually; they are only taken as part of a full-time course.

Linnaeus University, the second largest university in southern Sweden, has an enrollment of approximately 35,000 Swedish and international students from over 50 countries studying at the two campuses.
Although the majority of courses at the university are taught in Swedish, there are many courses in a wide range of fields taught in English which are open to USAC students.
The university has two campuses. One is a central campus situated south of the Växjö town center in a park-like setting, five kilometers from the city center and close to a historic country house, Teleborgs Slott.

This summer program offers intensive Swedish language courses at all levels in Sweden’s oldest university town for 9, 6 or 3 weeks.

Uppsala is a beautiful city to explore and spend a summer. It has numerous parks, running tracks, swimming pools, gyms. Students can rent a bike or walk around the city.
The Lake Mälaren is a bike or bus ride away for swimming or canoeing. There are several cinemas, many places to listen to (live) music, have coffee with something sweet.

All course fees are in sek, but here is the approximate equivalent in USD: 9 weeks $ 5,830, 6 weeks $ 3,970, 3 weeks $ 2,120.
The course fee includes all tuition, a guided tour of Uppsala, a single dormitory room, welcome and farewell dinner, lunch on class days, excursions on Fridays including entrance fees, study visits, social activities.
5. IT University of Göteborg

Courses included are artificial intelligence, ubiquitous computing, sensory interaction, industrial and interaction design, and business strategy and projects management.
Then the second half of the program begins. This part is entirely devoted to industrial research and development projects.
The aim of the Intelligent Systems Design Masters program (1.5 years) is to provide the student with the background and practical experience necessary for the creation of new intelligent systems and products.
The course is given by the IT University in Goteborg.
Intelligent Systems Design (ISD) is a full-spectrum Master’s program that provides training in innovating, designing, developing and commercializing intelligent products.
It leads to the degree of Master of Science in Applied Information Technology, issued by the Chalmers University of Technology.

This course examines the features, systems, and designs for sustainable cities ranging from transit, bike and ped circulation to renewable energy systems to waste management and urban planning and design.
Relying on the lecture, field trip, lectures by locals, design and planning problems, and reading the city exercises, the course shows what lessons can be taken from Europe back to US cities.
This program carries a total of 8 units. Enrolled students must take 8 units of Landscape Architecture 191 OR 4 units of Landscape Architecture 191 AND 4 units of Environmental Science and Policy 173.
Graduate students may take 4 units of Landscape Architecture 297 and 4 units of 298. Auditing is not an option.
