Shell Postgraduate Scholarship 2021/2022 Application Portal Update

The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students into the Shell Postgraduate Scholarship for postgraduate students. It is a fully funded scholarship. Scroll down to read in details.

About Shell Postgraduate Scholarship

The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) is aimed at providing an opportunity for qualifying students from these Niger Delta states to further their education in courses that apply to the oil and gas industry.

In the six years of this programme, 60 students have won the opportunity to study at top-rated universities in the UK on an all-expenses-paid scholarship.

For the academic year beginning, SPDC, in partnership with three universities in the UK-Imperial College London, University College, London and the University of Leeds, will award ten scholarships for one year of post-graduate MSc studies.

The following courses quality for scholarships at the three institutions:
Imperial College London

  • MSc Petroleum Engineering
  • MSc Petroleum Geoscience

University College London

  • MSc Chemical/Process Engineering
  • MSc Mechanical Engineering (Rotating Equipment or Metallurgy)
  • MSc Civil Engineering (Geotechnics)

The University of Leeds

  • MSc Exploration Geophysics
  • MSc Electronic/Electrical Engineering

Shell Postgraduate Scholarship Eligibility/Requirements

1. Must be of sound intellectual record.

2. It is also compulsory for the candidate to meet the IELTS requirements of the selected University.

3. A minimum of 6.5 IELTS score in English test.

4. Officials also hinted that Shell PhD. Scholarship 2021 requirements also include an international visa to the UK.

5. Must have got a degree considerably similar to UK Universities‘ Upper Second class degree.

6. You are also expected to be a full-time resident in Nigeria.

7. This very Shell M.sc Scholarship 2021 is for only selected states [Rivers, Imo, Delta or the Bayelsa State of Nigeria ]

8. Selected persons must return to Nigeria upon completion of studies unless there is a different arrangement made by Shell.

9. Current beneficiaries of a similar scholarship scheme are not welcome to apply.

10. Don’t also apply if you are a current resident of the UK.

11. Workers or relatives of Shell BP staff or other affiliated companies are not eligible for this Shell Postgraduate Scholarship Program.

12. You must have gained provisional admission into any of the partner universities in the US.

How to Apply

1. Apply for admission to any of the prospective universities for any of the above qualifying courses

2. Application forms for the scholarship will ONLY be available through the websites of the taking part universities following an offer of admission by the university

3. Universities will process applications and select candidates to attend interviews before being considered for final selection

4. Completed scholarship application forms must reach taking part universities.

1. The scholarship will cover tuition fees, one economy return flight ticket from Nigeria to the UK and a contribution towards living expenses only*.

2. More information on specific course admission requirements can be got from the websites of the individual universities.

3. Please note that the stipends are based on the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) published living rates and are limited to this only

4. This is a non-committal scholarship. Note that NEITHER SPDC NOR, any of its affiliate companies, must offer employment of any sort to any candidate for graduation. Neither are successful candidates bonded to SPDC for any period, on account of the scholarship award.
