About Platt Family Scholarship Prize Essay Contest

The essay contest is open to the students who are full-time, undergraduate students in an American College or University.
Special contributions of the forum to the field of Lincoln studies contribute through a roster of activities and projects including symposia, tours, and student essay competitions.
The total amount of the essay contest announced by them is $2,700 for the winners.
The Lincoln For Forum is an assembly of people who share a deep interest in the life and times of Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War era.
The Forum endeavours to enhance the understanding and preserve the memory of Abraham Lincoln.
Platt Family Scholarship Prize Essay Contest Eligibility
To be eligible, the candidates must be following all the eligibility criteria:
1. Students, who are full-time undergraduate students in an American college or university during the spring 2018 semester.
2. You do not have to be an American citizen, but you do need to be attending an American college or university during the eligibility period.
3. It is not open to high school students. The key question to consider; when they contact your college or university registrar will they be able to confirm that you were enrolled as a full-time college student during the spring 2018 semester? If the answer is no, you are not eligible.

How to Apply
To apply, the applicants must write an essay and the topic of the essay for 2017 is given below
Several American presidents, including ideological opposites George W. Bush and Barack Obama, have stated that they have either admired or sought inspiration from the life and times of Abraham Lincoln.
What is it about Lincoln that appeals to a wide range of political leaders? What lessons from Lincoln’s presidency might be useful to our new president?
