Programme Value

The KMILOT Award provides an abundance of scholarship benefits towards all of its selected grantees. Successful scholarship recipients will be entitled to an award-level financial funding that is on par with their economic needs.   • Has met the UBC’s English Language Admission Standards.
  • Has an outstanding academic track record (for reference, students are expected to achieve all As in their report cards.)
  • Is nominated by their host institution for the KMILOT Awards.
  • Displays the need for financial assistance, which can be proven in the application documents.

Requirements

Besides fulfilling the eligibility criteria of the KMILOT Award, all incoming candidates will also be asked to provide several necessary documents to fully support their application forms. For High School Students

  • Grades 9-12: official interim or mid-year transcripts. If possible, predicted final grades as well.
  • Students completing IB Diploma: official, predicted IB grades.
  • For students pursuing British-patterned education: valid copies of their GSCE ‘O’ Level, GCE ‘AS’, ‘A’ Level certificates. If required, mock ‘AS’ or ‘A’ level grades would suffice as well.
  • For students pursuing US high school diplomat: official transcripts of Grade 9-11 grades as well as interim results for courses in progress in Grade 12.
  • If the above does not apply to you: submit in SAT or ACT achievement tests.
  • If you have completed high school: send in the final transcript of your results.

For College/University Transfer Students

  • Official, valid academic transcripts sent directly to the University of British Columbia from all post-secondary institutions.
  • Course descriptions.
  • Final secondary school/high school academic transcripts.

How to Apply

To apply for the KMILOT Awards, all candidates are required to apply for UBC’s undergraduate programme beforehand. In order to do this, the nominee can just simply complete and submit their online admission application through this website. Once the candidate has applied for the undergraduate programme, they can now move forward to the KMILOT Award application. To start off, download the official KMILOT Checklist for the application package. From there on, candidates must be able to ask for the necessary forms from their high school guidance counsellors or post-secondary administrators. In order to proceed to the Selection Committee, these forms have to be completed and submitted. All incomplete applications will not be accepted by the committee and will automatically be disqualified from the application procedure.
