National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation status to nine-degree programmes offered by the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT). Scroll down to read in details.
The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) in Kaduna has just been granted full accreditation for nine academic degree programmes by the National Universities Commission (NUC). This accreditation will be valid for a period of five years. The courses granted full accreditation status include Aerospace Engineering, Accounting, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Cyber Security, Economics, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, and Mechanical Engineering.
The accreditation of the Institute’s Academic Degree programmes took place from December 1st to December 6th, 2021, as part of the National Universities Commission’s requirements for quality assurance of all programmes offered by Nigerian tertiary institutions. Three different NUC teams visited the above nine departments and examined the available facilities in accordance with the NUC Benchmark Minimum Academic Standards (BMAS) for Undergraduate Programmes in Nigerian Universities.
The Institute’s remaining thirteen academic programmes are scheduled for accreditation in November 2022. Metallurgical and Material Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, and Automotive Engineering from the Faculty of Air Engineering; Telecommunication Engineering from the Faculty of Ground and Communication Engineering; Mathematics, Physics, Physics with Electronics, Statistics, and Chemistry from the Faculty of Sciences; Computer Science from the Faculty of Computing and Banking and Finance, International Relations, and Marketing from the Faculty of Management t and Social Sciences.
