National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero (KSUSTA) approval to commence MBBS and Nursing programmes.
This followed the successful Resource Verification visit of the Commission to the University. Read the letter NUC sent to KSUSTA below:
The Vice-Chancellor would kindly, recall that a resource Verification visit was carried out by a panel of experts to propose academic programmes in Kebbi State University of Science and Technology Aliero with a view to assessing the Human and material available for their establishment.
I am directed to inform the Vice-Chancellor that the Executives Secretary has considered and approved the establishment of the Full time mode of the Following Undergraduate program to be run from Main Campus of the University, effective from 2020/2021 academic session.
- Medicine and Surgery, MBBS
- Nursing Science, B.Nsc.
However, the Commission did not approve Medical Laboratory Science BMLS due to inadequate competent staff in the key area of Laboratory in all the key area of Medical Laboratory Science.
I am to add that the approval does not cover the Part-time mode of delivery of the programs, All programs shall bear only the approved titles and Nomenclature, and any change will require re-approval of the Commission.
The University is enjoined to provide adequate human and material resources for the development and growth of the approved programmes.
