The Korean American Scholarship Foundation is delighted to offer the Korean American Scholarship to the qualified Korean American students and non-Korean or international students from Korea.

The KASF award is open to undergraduate, graduate, and high school students who are enrolled as full time at the time of the award.

The KASF is a non-profit and volunteer-managed organization operated by voluntary-based Board of Directors and supporters. The foundation encourages community and civic service as an integral part of leadership development.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet all the following eligibility criteria:

  • All applicants must be enrolled in a full-time program in the U.S. during the application year.
  • Descendants of American veterans served during the Korean War may qualify
  • Undergraduate, graduate and high school students must be enrolled full time during the award application year.
  • Students with a Korean heritage studying in the United States regardless of citizenship status, including Korean Nationals, are eligible. If additional funds are available, non-Korean may qualify for some grants.

How to Apply

  • How to Apply: Candidates can only apply to the region where your school is located. It is imperative to follow the specific requirements and instructions of the region where the applicant’s school is or will be located during the award application year.
  • Note: The KASF is organized into seven regions; hence, the application process is handled separately by each region (1.Eastern Regional Chapter, 2.Midwestern Regional Chapter, 3.Mountain States Regional Chapter, 4.Northeastern Regional Chapter, 5.Southern Regional Chapter, 6.Southwestern Regional Chapter, and 7. Western Regional Chapter).
  • Supporting Documents: Applicants are required to submit recommendations, essay, and community service/extracurricular activities certificates.
  • Entry Requirements: Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Applicants are evaluated based on financial need and academic achievement.

Benefits

KASF financial aid positions will be awarded in the range from $500 to $5,000 and will cover the following:

  • High school students based on unique talents (i.e., winner of the musical competition)
  • College and Graduate school
  • Professional schools (Law, Medical, etc.)
  • Descendants of Korean War American Veterans that available only in some regions
