The program is designed to assist students in pursuing a full-time undergraduate study for the entire upcoming academic year. It is managed by the Institute of International Education and administered by Scholarship Management Services.

A valuable opportunity for students to complete full-time undergraduate study with study award.
The program is open to current high-school or secondary school students who are planning to attend as a full-time student in an approved college, university or vocational-technical school. Current First-year College students enrolled in a full-time STEM course are also eligible to apply.
The Institute of International Education was established in 1919. It is one of the largest and most experienced non-profit international educational and cultural exchanges, training and technical support organizations in the world.

Eligibility
Acceptable Course or Subjects: Applicants must be pursuing a degree in one of the following STEM disciplines:
- Facilities Engineering: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Construction Management
- Petroleum Engineering/Drilling & Completions: Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering
- Earth Science: Geology, Geophysics, Geological Engineering, and Physics
- Information Technology: Applied Math, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, and Statistics
- Health, Environment and Safety (HES): Civil Engineering, Safety/Health Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, and Chemical Engineering
Admissible Criteria: Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Students must be enrolled at one of the eligible universities when they choose to study in the U.S. (see List of Eligible U.S. Colleges) and continued parental employment.
- Be children (living with the employee-parent or other dependent children on Chevron’s benefits plans) of non-U.S.-payroll active employees of Chevron and its wholly-owned subsidiaries. It includes children of retired employees and domestic partners’ children.
- If Chevron parent employee is retired, the retiree must not be employed at a competitor energy company.
- Must be children of active employees of Chevron or non-U.S.-payroll employees
- Must be current high school seniors enrolled in the final year of high school or secondary school who will be entering as first-year students or
- Current college freshmen with a U.S equivalent GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale enrolled in a full-time STEM course of study
- Applicants who will pursue their study in the U.S. must be planning to enroll in one of the eligible universities for the entire upcoming academic year.

- Supporting Documents: A completed application form (in English, French, Portuguese or Spanish), an essay, a recommendation form, and a current & complete transcript of grades for the last four years of schooling.
- Entry Requirement: Applicants must be having at least a US GPA equivalent of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in a full-time STEM course of study.
Benefits
- The program will provide award range from $500 to $2,500 for one academic year.
- Non-renewable one-time $1,500 honorariums will be awarded to students who do not demonstrate relative financial need or whose parents do not supply the requested financial information.
- Furthermore, two of the top-ranked applicants will be selected to receive a $4,000 non-renewable Willard and Bernice Retelle Family Scholarship.
