AFIT Remedial Admission Form 2023/2024

AFIT invites applications for its 2023/2024 Remedial Programme. Applicants who pass end-of-program exams and achieve minimum UTME cut-off points will be considered for degree programmes based on performance and programme quota. Scroll down to read in details.

The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) announces the release of its Remedial programme admission form for the 2023/2024 academic session. This opens the door for suitably qualified candidates to apply for admission into the School of Basic and Remedial Studies, offering a great opportunity to augment their academic qualifications.

What the Remedial Programme Offers

Successful candidates admitted into the Remedial programme who excel in the School’s examinations and meet the minimum UTME cut-off point approved by the University may be considered for admission into degree programmes. Admission into these programmes is contingent on performance and the quota for each programme.

Admission Requirements and Qualification

Different admission requirements apply depending on the academic field:

Social and Management Sciences

Applicants must possess credit passes in five subjects at no more than two sittings in the SSCE/GCE organised by WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB, including the core subjects of their intended course of study. Crucially, credit grades in English Language and Mathematics are mandatory for eventual admission into any programme. Two of the five subjects must be from the Arts, while the remaining subjects may be from the Social Sciences.

Engineering and Sciences

Applicants in this category must pass the following subjects at credit level: English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. This must be achieved at not more than two sittings in the SSCE/GCE organised by WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB.

Duration of Programme

The remedial programme runs for two semesters, which equates to one academic session.

Eligibility Criteria

Primarily, the basic programme is open to applicants who couldn’t secure admission into AFIT because their UTME score fell below the JAMB cut-off point. However, applicants who applied for other Universities may also be considered.

General Conditions

Applicants with credit pass in five O-Level subjects but with a deficiency in English Language or Mathematics may apply for the programme. However, they must register for and obtain a credit pass in the deficient subject before being considered for admission into a degree programme.
