The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai, Niger State, full accreditation status for its accounting and 2 other programmes. Scroll down to read in details.
The Accounting programme of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai has received full academic accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
In a letter addressed to the Visitor to the University, and copied to the Vice-Chancellor, the Commission’s Director of Accreditation, Dr Maryam Sali, said the approval which includes Public Administration and Transport Management is the result of an exercise conducted in the University late last year by the Commission as part of its statutory mandate to accredit academic programmes in the nation’s Universities.
The letter stated further that the full accreditation is for a period of five years.
Commenting on the result, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu appreciated the efforts of the Niger State Government under the leadership of the Visitor to the University, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello for the financial support given to the University for the exercise and looking forward to the next support which will involve more programmes.
Similarly, the Vice-Chancellor also extended his appreciation to the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Technology under the Honourable Commissioner, Professor Abubakar Baba Aliyu for all the encouragement and support.
It would be recalled that the National Universities Commission organised the accreditation exercise of academic programmes in the University in October/November 2021 to ascertain their viability.
