The program’s goal is to benefit not only the participants and The Times, but also other newsrooms. They expect most of their fellows will graduate to positions around the country and world.

For more than a century, The New York Times has invested deeply in talent, leading to Pulitzer Prizes and top careers in media. Spotting and lifting journalism’s next generation is a passion of theirs. It’s also a responsibility they regard as both sacred and pressing.

Benefits

  • Fellows work full time, are paid and receive benefits. They are Guild-represented employees.

Eligibility

  • Open to journalists with some experience who are early in their careers, including recent graduates of college and graduate school.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
