LMU Postgraduate Admission Form 2023/2024

Landmark University is inviting applications for admission into its various postgraduate programmes (Ph.D., Master/M.Phil., and PGD) for the 2023/2024 academic session. The programs have specific admission requirements, course duration, and application fees. All applications should be supported by academic transcripts and recommendations, and applicants must meet the stipulated admission criteria. The School of Postgraduate Studies (SPS) at Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State, is pleased to announce the commencement of its admissions process for the 2023/2024 academic session. The institution is currently inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for various postgraduate programmes, including Ph.D., Master/M.Phil., and Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) courses.

Landmark Postgraduate Admission Requirements

To gain admission into Landmark University’s postgraduate programs, prospective candidates must meet certain criteria. These prerequisites differ according to the level of study, as outlined below:

Doctoral (Ph.D.) Degree Programmes

Candidates must have a Master’s degree relevant to the intended program from Landmark University or any other university recognized by the Landmark University Senate. Additionally, the candidate should have scored:

  • An average of at least 60% (3.5 CGPA) in his/her Master’s degree program.
  • Between 55% – 59% to qualify for the M.Phil. Ph.D. track.
  • Between 50% – 54% to qualify for the M.Phil. Program.

All applications should be accompanied by academic transcripts and recommendations from two academic referees from the applicant’s previous tertiary institution.

Duration for a Ph.D. degree program is a minimum of six (6) semesters and a maximum of ten (10) semesters for full-time candidates. Relevant courses will be taken, and a thesis is required at the end of the Ph.D. program.

Master Degree Programmes

To qualify for the Master’s degree programs, candidates must:

  • Hold a minimum of a Second Class Lower Honours Degree from Landmark University, or any other university recognized by the Senate, in the relevant discipline.
  • Have a Third Class Bachelor’s degree plus a good PGD.
  • Hold an HND (minimum of Merit grade) plus PGD.

Again, all applications should be accompanied by academic transcripts and recommendations from two academic referees from the applicant’s previous tertiary institution.

Duration for a Master’s degree program is a minimum of three (3) semesters and a maximum of five (5) semesters for full-time candidates. Relevant courses will be taken for the Master Degree studies, and a dissertation is produced after the research work.

Postgraduate Diploma Programmes

For admission into the Postgraduate Diploma programs, candidates must:

  • Have five (5) credit passes including English, Mathematics, and three other relevant subjects at ‘Ó’ levels.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from an approved university with a minimum of a Third Class Degree in the relevant discipline.
  • Hold an HND in relevant programs from approved institutions with a minimum of a Pass in the subjects.

Again, all applications should be accompanied by academic transcripts and recommendations from two academic referees from the applicant’s previous tertiary institution.

Duration for a Postgraduate Diploma program is a minimum of two (2) semesters and a maximum of four (4) semesters for full-time candidates.

  • Applicants to embark on courses of study leading to the award of Postgraduate Degrees/Diplomas of Landmark University are to complete the online Application Form, and attach the required relevant credentials/certificates, which includes the National Youth Service Corps Discharge or Exemption Certificate, as the case may be.
  • Printed copies of the completed Application Form and photocopies of the attached credentials are to be submitted in triplicates to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, Landmark University, Omu-Aran.
  • Please note that no person shall be admitted to a course except his/her application has been approved by the Board of School of Postgraduate Studies on behalf of Senate and on the recommendation of the appropriate Departmental Postgraduate Board, having satisfied the expected requirement for admission.
  • All new students who are non-graduands of Landmark University, Omu-Aran, shall take the Oath of Allegiance to the University.
