The new management of the National Universities Commission (NUC) has announced the suspension of the recently announced recruitment exercise by the former Executive Secretary, Prof. Julius Okojie.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Director of Information and Public Relations of the commission, Ibrahim Yakasai, the indefinite suspension was due to the urgent need for the new management to restructure the commission for greater efficiency and service delivery in the discharge of its regulatory functions.
Yakasai said that the commission regrets the inconveniences caused by the suspension.
It would be recalled that the vacancy announcement was published on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in three (3) National dailies, Guardian, Punch and Daily Trust calling for applications to fill vacant positions in the National Universities Commission (NUC).
