STIBET Scholarships

The STIBET Scholarships is a program that is offered by the University of Oldenburg, a highly-acknowledged educational institution located in Oldenburg. This scholarship is a collaboration with the university itself and the German Academic Exchange Service, also known as DAAD. This scholarship is only offered to students of foreign nationalities who are currently undergoing through the final thesis of their PhD program.

This scholarship caters of every international student from every academic courses, provided that the course is offered by the University of Oldenburg. Unlike most scholarships, the STIBET Scholarships only provides partial funding for a period of three to four months.

Criteria: future candidates who are interested in applying for this scholarship must be an international student who does not hold German citizenship, must have an astounding academic track record, must graduate at a targeted deadline, gives proof that he or she is in financial need, and if possible, he or she must commit to voluntary work in the university.

Benefits: recipients of the STIBET scholarships will receive a partial funding of 400€ per month throughout the course of 3 to 4 months.

How to apply: the STIBET scholarships are given by the faculty twice a year, during the time periods of October-January and April-June. Ruhr University International Student Fellowship

The International Student Fellowship is a grant offered by the Ruhr University Bochum, a public university located in Bochum. Just like the previous scholarship, this scholarship is a collaboration between the Ruhr University Bochum and the German Academic Exchange Serive (DAAD). This scholarship is offered to international students only.

The scholarship is offered to any candidate who are willing to pursue the PhD degrees in any course provided by the Ruhr University Bochum. Again, just like the previous scholarship, this fellowships only gives partial funding to its selected candidates.

Criteria: future candidates who wish to apply for this scholarship must have completed their first university degree at an overseas country (specifically their undergraduate or bachelor degree), close to finishing their final degree (must be able to complete their final thesis during said period and graduate within the winter semester), have shown an astounding academic career (high GPA, publications, research activities), and are currently in need of financial support.

Benefits: successful recipients of this scholarship will receive a partial funding of 400€ per month for a period of four months.

University of Hamburg Doctoral Scholarships

The University of Hamburg Doctoral Scholarships is a scholarship offered by the University of Hamburg, a well-accredited university located in Hamburg. This scholarship is given out to students coming from all nationalities.

This scholarship caters to every subject that is made available by the University of Hamburg. However, this scholarship only provides partial funding for a brief period of time.

Criteria: students who wish to apply for this PhD scholarship must graduate within a year (unless there are certain important reasons), have an outstanding academic transcript with above-average grades and must pursue their doctoral degree at the University of Hamburg.

Benefits: successful candidates of the University of Hamburg Doctoral Scholarships will receive a fellowship amount of 1200€ per month. Should any candidate be a parent, her or she will receive an additional 154€ for child support funds (however, this must be proven and verified by the candidate.)

The Neurosciences in Berlin – International PhD Fellowship is a 4-year neuroscience program offered by the Einstein Center for Neurosciences Berlin (ECN). This program is offered to fellow neuroscience students of both German citizenship and international citizenship.

This scholarship caters to a specific list of research areas and scientific disciplines, such as Biology, Bio-chemistry, Chemistry, Cognitive Linguistics, Cognitive Neuroscience, Linguistics, Mathematics, Medicine, Neurosciences, Neurobiology, Neurology, Philosophy, Physics, Psychiatry, and Psychology.

Criteria: future candidates who are willing to give this fellowship a chance must have at least a Masters in Science (MSc) degree in order to proceed.

Benefits: successful candidates of the Neurosciences in Berlin – International PhD Fellowship will receive a grant of 1468€ per month within the length of four years.

The scholarship caters to only one PhD program provided by the Technical University of Munich, which is the Machine Learning for Patient Data Analysis program. This course will then be taught at the Hellmholtz Center Munich (HMGU).

Criteria: future applicants who are interested in trying out for this scholarship must have a MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, has a history of machine learning and clinical data, high credibility in programming, has an interest in working with healthcare problems, skilled in scientific writing, and able to work independently and in a team.

Benefits: successful candidates of the TUM Postdoctoral Fellowship will receive the opportunity to do a fully-expense paid study in the Technical University of Munich.
