Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities

This is one of the ongoing NSPscholarships. And it is offered by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India.

The Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India invites applications from class 11 to Ph.D. students of minority communities.

The scholarship aims to encourage meritorious students of economically weaker sections of the minority community.

Furthermore, it aims to help them pursue higher education. And it aims to help them enhance their employ-ability status.

Coverage of the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities

The scholarship is for studies in India. And this study is in a government or private higher secondary school/college/university.

Also, it covers technical and vocational courses. This is in Industrial Training Institute/ Industrial Training Center.

These centres are affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT). this is of classes XI. And also of XII level including Polytechnics.

Eligibility Criteria for this Scholarship

To be eligible, please note.

1. You must be studying in class 11 or 12. And you must be studying graduate and postgraduate courses. Also, you must be studying technical or vocational courses

2. Furthermore, you must have secured at least 50% marks or equivalent grades in the previous final examination.

3. Also, you must belong to the family whose annual income is not more than INR 2 lakh from all the sources.

4. Again, you must belong to the minority community.

5. Also, students belonging to Muslim/ Christian/Sikh/ Buddhist/ Jain / Parsi are eligible.

6. Again, the annual income of his/her parents/guardians from all sources not exceeding Rs. 2 Lakhs.

7. Also, both Day scholars and hostellers are eligible to apply

Benefits of the Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities

Below are some of the benefits of this scholarship:

1. It gives admission and tuition fee for classes 11 and 12. Thus, Hostellers and Day Scholars get INR 7,000 per annum.

2. Also, it covers admission and tuition fee for technical and vocational courses. This is for classes 11 and 12 levels. Thus, Hostellers and Day Scholars get INR 10,000 per annum here.

3. Additionally, it covers admission and tuition fee for undergraduate and postgraduate. Both Hostellers and Day Scholars get INR 3,000 per annum.

4. Furthermore, it covers the maintenance allowance for 10 months. This is in an academic year for classes 11 and 12. And it includes technical and vocational courses. Hostellers alone get INR 380 per month.

5. Furthermore, it covers the maintenance allowance for 10 months. This is in an academic year for classes 11 and 12. And it includes technical and vocational courses. Day Scholars alone get INR 230 per month.

7. Furthermore, it covers the maintenance allowance for 10 months. And this is in an academic year for courses other than technical and professional courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Day Scholars alone get INR 300 per month.

8. Furthermore, it covers the maintenance allowance for 10 months. And this is in an academic year for M.Phil. and Ph.D. Hostellers alone get INR 1200 per month.

9. Furthermore, it covers the maintenance allowance for 10 months. And it is in an academic year for M.Phil. and Ph.D. Day Scholars alone get INR 550 per month.

Required Documents

Below are some documents to submit when applying for Post Matric scholarship scheme for minorities:

1. Domicile Certificate.

2. Student Photograph.

3. Self-Declaration of minority community certificate by the student.

4. Also, a self-attested copy of the previous academic mark sheet.

5. Fee receipt of the current course year.

6. Scanned copy of Aadhar Enrollment/Aadhar Card.

7. Income certificate issued by designated state/UT authority.

8. Proof of bank account. This is in the name of the student or joint account with the mother/father.

How to Apply for the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps –

1. Visit the homepage of the National Scholarship Portal and click on ‘New Registration‘.

2. Also, read the guidelines carefully. Then select the undertaking and Continue‘.

3. Select the state of domicile, scholarship category (Post Matric), scheme type (scholarship scheme), gender, write the applicant’s name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID.

4. Also, provide the bank details. Additionally, provide Bank Name, IFSC Code, and Account Numbers.

5. Also, select Aadhaar or Bank Account Number as identification detail. And then click on the ‘Register’ button. The mobile number will be verified and an OTP will be generated.

6. Now, log in using OTP and fill the form. An application ID and password will be generated. Use that for future references.
