The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Chairman, University Admissions Committee, Professor Olatunde Arayela stated this at a meeting to wrap up preparations for the Post UTME Screening Exercise that will take place from the 6th to 10th October, 2017. Professor Arayela disclosed that a total number of 13,500 candidates registered for the screening while the University Senate had decided that it will admit only 3,500 candidates for the academic session. Professor Arayela said the University under the leadership of Professor Joseph Fuwape has put in place all necessary measures to ensure efficient and hitch free screening exercise. He said each programme will have its own cut off mark which will be determined by its carrying capacity and only those who meet the cut-off point will be offered admission. Professor Arayela said during the policy meeting organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) involving all heads of tertiary Institutions in Nigeria and their Registrars, a Central Admission Process System (CAPS) was introduced to ensure that only qualified candidates are given admission based on merit.
