Acceptable Course or Subjects: The sponsorship will be awarded to study undergraduate programs offered by the University.
Admissible Criteria:

  • International students accepted for English language instruction at the Intensive English Institute or conditionally admitted to an academic program at UMaine are eligible.
  • Students in the IEI Bridge program are eligible for the IEI Discovery scholarship and not for international academic programs (International Presidential, Flagship, Dean’s and Maine Global Partner Scholarship). See bottom of the page for more information.

How to Apply

  • How to apply: No additional application is required. All eligible candidates will automatically be considered when they will apply for undergraduate admission at the UMaine.
  • Supporting Documents: Candidates need to submit their language ability proof, curriculum vitae, and copy of their transcripts or degree certificate.
  • Admission Requirements: For a bachelor’s degree program, the participants need to check all the entry requirements.
  • Language Requirement: If the participant’s national language is not English, then they have to show the English language ability by taking the TOEFL or IELTS test.

Benefit: The funded program will help candidates in their studies by providing them with an award of US$2,000 per academic year.
